Stacy is a Florida native; she was raised in Hernando County.  After graduating from Hernando High School she attended The University of West Florida where she met her husband Harry. Stacy and Harry lived in Connecticut, North Carolina and Washington State before moving to Brooksville in 2001. They have two children, Savanna and Gavin; both attend Challenger K8 School of Science and Mathematics.

Gavin was diagnosed with an ASD (Asperger’s Disorder) in 2005. Completely new to ASD, ESE, IEP's and IDEA, and all of the other acronyms that sounded foreign,  Stacy began her new education. Stacy is an advocate for inclusion for children with disabilities in school and the community as well as being dedicated to helping parents work collaboratively with their children's educators. Harry works in the communications field and Stacy is an active volunteer in her community.

Some of Stacy's community involvements include:

  • Florida Partners in Policymaking graduate, 2009

  • Best Practices of Inclusive Education (Hernando County) committee
  • Exceptional Student Education Advisory committee, Chairperson 2008-09, 2009-10
  • Bullying and Harassment Taskforce Member
  • Hernando County 2008 & 2010 Autism Walk Event organizer
  • Hernando County 2009 Autism Walk Committee Member
  • Florida Inclusion Network, PATH participant
